This months read "THE BODY KEEPS THE SCORE" by Bessel van der Kolk, M.D. explains what trauma is and how it can change our lives. Trauma can be rooted from slamming on the brakes of your car to avoid an accident, surgery, being yelled at by a stranger, childhood experiences and everything else in between and beyond. Trauma stores in our bodies as pain, discomfort, fear, stress, anxiety, depression and the list goes on.
Lets focus on the empowering message that promotes resilience and recovery for ourselves and those around us.

You can then safely start to uncover movement patterns, habitual holding, and contraction within. This exploration allows your body to self-correct and release persistent stress-based patterns. Expect a slower-paced class with focus on internal body awareness, balance and mindful stretching along with some basic breathing exercises (pranayama) and perhaps a seated meditation at the end.

Breath-synchronized movement and a little sweat! Stretch and strengthen by combining yoga movements, weights, breath work and calisthenics. Bodyweight strength training can increase strength and muscle mass with the addition of light weights, Physically, sweat expels toxins and re-energizes your body. Mentally, the synchronized breathing relaxes your mind and helps to release any blockage of energy flow throughout your body. Great for active beginners
